A Message From Your President As your local union president, I am pleased to dedicate this website to members throughout the jurisdiction of District Union Local Two.
District Local Two was created from the mergers of Locals 576 and 340 in January 1997. Other mergers occurred prior to, and after, that date. Many Local Two members also formerly belonged to Locals 782, 322, P-58 and 410-A. These mergers have created one strong local union with members working in 210 locations. Your local union represents workers in western and central Missouri, the entire state of Kansas and Texas County in Oklahoma. Local union membership exceeds 11,000 members who work under 100 different collective bargaining agreements. Job sites are diverse - ranging from retail stores to nursing homes, packing houses to barber shops, and public safety dispatch centers to manufacturing and food processing. To maintain the strength and effectiveness of our local union, it is important for each member to participate by attending meetings, becoming better informed, enforcing our contracts, encouraging non-union co-workers to become members and organizing the unorganized. As volunteer activities are scheduled, these events will be posted on this website. Please call the Kansas City office or "Contact Us Online" to place your name on the Volunteer Program list. I hope you will find this website informative. The quarterly newsletter will continue to serve as official notice of general membership meetings, however this website will enable your officers and staff to expand upon the amount of information we can provide to the membership in a timely manner.
